Details

This brilliant boot or hatch mounted bike rack is Thule's latest iteration of the boot mounted bike carrier. With the new OutWay they've addressed and improved on many of the issues associated with this type of bike carrier mounting.

Firstly there's the steel top cables, these will will never break, ensuring peace of mind. Next is their easy mounting with their new simple user interface and automatic torque limiting tightening system, this takes the guesswork out of fitting. Additionally its twin hook mounts and rubber protection pads which will protect your vehicle's finish while also ensuring a solid attachment point. Similarly your bike is protected by the shock absorbing padded cradles, although we don't recommend this style of carrier for carbon bikes as it may mark the finish. Further to this, the integrated anti-sway system also ensures that there's no bike to bike contact or car to bike contact. Locks are also included to secure both your bikes to the rack and your rack to your vehicle.

This type of rack secures your bikes by their top tube, so a wide range of bikes can be carried with this carrier, but you may need a bike frame adapter such as the Yakima TubeTop to carry bikes with unusual frame shapes.

The carrier folds down when not in use so even while fitted it is unobtrusive, plus it is possible to open the boot or hatch of your vehicle with the carrier still fitted (unloaded).

Note that this carrier is not a universal fit and will not fit all vehicles, please check Thule's vehicle fitment guide to ensure it fits your vehicle before ordering. If the guide does not mention the exact model/year of your car then it will unfortunately need to be considered a 'No-Fit'. Note: no returns or refunds on this product if your vehicle is not in the fit guide.

These style of carriers are generally only used when towball, hitch or roof mounts are not an option. Please be aware that they are in direct contact with the paint and bodywork of your car. You will need to keep your vehicle clean to avoid potential scuffing of paintwork.

Bear in mind that some vehicles may not be able to open the hatch whilst the carrier is mounted.

These style of carriers will cover your rear number plate and you will need to purchase an approved bike number plate from your State or Territory roads authority. The use of a lightboard is recommended for safety and legal compliance. If you don't have a towbar you will most likely need to get an auto electrician or installer to fit an electrical outlet to your vehicle.

You can key alike your Thule products by purchasing lock cores separately. Please check your local state laws before using this carrier.

There are no deliveries made on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays by our couriers.

Typically, We will despatch orders the next working day. Orders placed on Friday will generally be despatched the following work day which would be Monday of the following or the next working day. Orders placed 1 day prior or on the same day as a public holiday will be despatched the next working day.

No retailer or courier company can ever "guarantee" a next working day delivery.

All courier companies occasionally have the same transport problems that can happen to everyone, inclusive of but not limited to: snow blocked roads, closed roads, traffic jams, mechanical breakdown, an inability to find the delivery address or to gain access to it if, for example, it's in a block of flats. We work with some of the best couriers in the business, and overall they provide an outstanding service.

Please note that we cannot be held responsible for the consequences of any delay caused by the failure of our contracted couriers to fulfil their obligations, although we will always do all that is reasonable to provide the goods by the time required. Please also note that the percentage of delayed deliveries is very small, and the percentage of items lost in transit is all but non-existent.
